Classes

Ballet I (Ages 7-11)

Aspiring ballerinas learn basic positions, jumps and turns as they waltz the choreography of fairies on the pretty pointed feet.

Ballet II (Ages 11-16)

Ballerinas with experience continue to learn more challenging technique not only with their pretty pointed feet but within the beauty of the port de bra and presence on the stage.  Jump higher, leap farther and pirouette, pirouette, pirouette!

Ballet III (Ages 12-18)

Ballerinas who aspire to dancing en pointe.  In Ballet III begin the process that stresses the strength and agility required to dance longer and stronger.  The language of classical ballet is expanded, the lines of  the dancer are extended, the technique and stage presence are expressive.  In Ballet IV, ballerinas work strictly en pointe awakening the dream of the prima ballerina within!

Ballet Technique and Variations (Ages 12-18)

A class also attended by Ballet III/IV dancers. Each week is devoted to a technical aspect of the ballet.  Classical ballet variations are learned along with Contemporary and Modern technique and choreography.  Build a better ballerina!

Beg. Ballet/Beg. Jazz (Ages 4-6)

Did you know Ballet is a French language?  Beginning ballerinas are learning the French terminology as they chasse, pas de chat, bouree and chaine around the dance floor.  They then apply basic ballet positions to the Beginning Jazz portion of class where they shake and shimmy to popular music.

Beg. Ballet/Tap I (Ages 5-8)

Aspiring ballerinas learn basic positions, jumps and turns as they waltz the choreography of fairies on the pretty pointed feet.

Beg. Jazz/Tap I (Ages 5-8)

Move and shake some jazz steps:  shine-the-ceiling, trick step, shoop-shoop, cowgirls and more.  Start the class learning the Tap family of steps:  Kimbo, Tack Annie, Suzy-Q, Fred Astaire along with Bees Knees and Trick Steps.  We just can’t stop smiling with all these fun and funky named steps to learn!

Belly Dance (Beginners)

Study the beauty of movement with no prior dance experience necessary. From the first moment of tying the hip belt on & hearing it jingle the student will fall in love studying classic belly dance movements in such detail they will begin to feel the dance deep in the body creating a personal interpretation of beautiful belly dance. From terminology to form and breathe the beauty of belly dance will begin to become one with the dancer.

Belly Dance (Intermediate/Advanced)

With the basics solid under the hip belt, the dancer will jingle with excitement when continuing to learn more difficult moves and combinations. Turning up the heat in their personal style, learning to layer the foundational skills in a fast pace will per pair the dancer to the next degree. Every thing from drills to create solid structure, learning technique, to props becoming a dance partner will be taught in the continuous sessions of Intermediate/Advance Belly Dance.

Hip Hop I (Ages 9-11)

Level I dancers get the basics of sharp street style dance and how to isolate movements within the dance.  As the Hip Hop dancer progresses more intricate isolations and combinations are created to stretch the imagination and their knowledge of popping, locking, sliding, gliding and Fancy Footwork!

Hip Hop II (Ages 12-14)

As the Hip Hop dancer progresses more intricate isolations and combinations are created to stretch the imagination and their knowledge of popping, locking, sliding, gliding and Fancy Footwork!

Hip-Hip 1 (Ages 7-9)

Jazz II (Ages 11-15)

Jazz dancers incorporate learned knowledge of the ballet basic positions while incorporating the stylizations of jazz.  Add to the chasse and the passé with an axel, pencil, pivot or pizza turn!  Throw in a bit of Hip-Hop with isolations, popping, locking and other Fancy Footwork!

WILL BE MEETING TUESDAYS 5:30 TO 6:30 PM - Session 1 beginning Aug 27th.

Jazz III (Ages 14-18)

Jazz dancers work through challenging combinations of classic jazz styles while incorporating Modern and Hip-Hop movement.  Dancers are encouraged to bring their individuality to improv exercises, choreography and class combinations.  Jump higher, leap farther, turn faster and give the audience your brightest performance!

Jr. Jazz/Jr. Tap (Ages 3-5)

Start with your toes tapping to some fun and silly songs while learning those basic shuffles and Tap family of steps:  Kimbo, Slap Jack, Shorty George and Patty Cake Polka.  Then with our Jazz shoes on we can shoop-shoop, shine the ceiling, gallop and skip to more sing-along songs!

Private Lessons (Ages All)

Private lessons are available for any age dancer who would like to enhance their performance and knowledge of a particular dance style.  Please contact Laura Bronk, Director to discuss this opportunity.

Tap I (Ages 5-8)

Lindy, trenches, time-steps and more!  Expand your Tap vocabulary with the sounds and rhythms you can make with your feet.

Tap III (Ages 12-15)

Combinations galore, learn to explore, the many different sounds of the Tap dance world.  Double and triple your steps, add some turns, leaps and jumps and you’re ready to Shuffle off to Buffalo or 42nd Street!

Tap IV (Ages 14-18)

The advanced Tap dancer continues to expand the more intricate sounds that are achieved through practiced articulation of the feet.  Rhythm, Buck, Broadway, show-stopping acapella tapping are part of your choreographic challenge!

Yoga (Ages 15 to adult)

NETA certified teacher, Pam Josifek leads several Yoga classes Monday through Thursday at Fancy Dancer Studio.  Cost is based on a punch card system; a 5 session card is $45.00; a 10 session card is $80.00.  Contact the studio for more information.
